| Name: | Karen Matthews, Ph.D |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 1971-09-02 |
| Location: | New Jersey, United States |
Dr. Karen Matthews grew up on the west coast in small towns in Oregon and Washington. She dropped out of school at the age of seventeen and passed the GED with one of the highest scores on record, after which she studied psychology at several small colleges.
After years of patients, patience and a really awesome thesis, she came out a lot older and with funny letters after her name.
Really, her career took off after her first self-help book, Psycho-Logic, reached number one on the NY Times Bestseller list in 1999 followed by three others in the following years. She is currently doing research at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey for a book analyzing the effect working in the medical field has in regards to mental health. (The book is scheduled to be released in spring of 2008.)
Dr. Matthews has never married and has no children, but would like to say that her pet is cooler than yours.

crankyhospital. This is not a real journal and is in no way affiliated with David Shore, House MD, Fox, Christina Applegate, or that psychologist whose name also turned out to be Karen Matthews. But it would be cool if it was, hey?
